Our Base Is Ready for Tonight's Ceremony
Richie's memorial stone, a piece of World Trade Center steel, and chairs for our neighbors — the base is set for tonight's 25th Anniversary September 11th Ceremony at 7:30 PM.
The chairs are out, the colors are by the door, and a piece of World Trade Center steel stands beside Richie's stone. Our base at 92-29 Metropolitan Avenue is ready.
The 25th Anniversary September 11th Ceremony begins tonight at 7:30 PM. All are welcome.
At the flagpole is the stone for Richard Allen "Richie" Pearlman, Badge #3754 — March 7, 1983 to September 11, 2001 — the youngest first responder lost that day. Beside it, a firefighter's helmet rests on a length of steel from the Trade Center. On the wall are the memorials to Richie and to Robert "Bob" Castioni, and out front, photographs of our ambulance at Ground Zero.
